It doesn’t look like the Cavs are going to make a big splash in free agency in 2012, even though they have close to $20 million dollars in cap space to use. So does that mean G.M. Chris Grant is saving his money and cap space to target a big name free agent next year? Let’s hope so.
Next year’s class is BIG at the top, but after that, not very impressive. Here’s a list of the top unrestricted and restricted free agents who could be available next year, unless they sign a contract extension this year with their current team, or are traded, and they sign a new deal with their new team:
Top Free Agents Who Will Be Available in 2013
Dwight Howard – C – Orlando Magic - UFA
Andrew Bynum – C – Los Angeles Lakers – UFA
Al Jefferson – C – Utah Jazz – UFA
Chris Paul – PG – Los Angeles Clippers – UFA
Paul Millsap – PF – Utah Jazz – UFA
James Harden – SG/SF – Oklahoma City Thunder – RFA
Serge Ibalka – PF – Oklahoma City Thunder – RFA
Stephen Curry – SG – Golden State Warriors – RFA
