The lowdown: Continuing our series reviewing the Browns’ league-high 13 selections in the April 26-28 draft.

The Browns’ selections are:

First round – Fourth overall and 22nd

Second round – 37th

Third round – 67th

Fourth round – 100th, 118th

Fifth round – 139th, 160th

Sixth round – 204th (compensatory), 205th (comp)

Seventh round – 211th, 245th (comp), 247th (comp)

The 100th pick, past five years

2011: DB Da’Norris Searcy, Bills

2010: DE Everson Griffin, Vikings

2009: TE Travis Beckum, Giants

2008: DB Tyvon Branch, Raiders

2007: RB Michael Bush, Raiders

Analysis: Searcy started three of 16 games as a rookie safety for the Bills. Griffin recorded four sacks in 16 games as a situational rusher with the Vikings last year. In his third season, Beckum made some contributions in the postseason and then suffered a torn knee ligament in the Super Bowl. He has three TDs in three years. After his third straight season as Raiders’ starting strong safety and second as their leading tackler, Branch earned the club’s franchise tender, guaranteeing him about $6.2 million in 2012. Bush lasted this long in the draft because a broken leg shattered his final year at Louisville. After rushing for 977 yards in his fourth year, Bush signed a $14 million contract in free agency with the Bears.

Past Browns picks at No. 100

1973: QB Randolph Mattingly, Evansville

Analysis: Mattingly’s younger brother Don is the former New York Yankees great and current Los Angeles Dodgers manager. Mattingly did not stick with the Browns and finished his career in the Canadian Football League.

The 118th pick, past five years

2011: DB Jalil Brown, Chiefs

2010: TE Garrett Graham, Texans

2009: LB Stanley Arnoux, Saints

2008: LB Xavier Adibi, Texans

2007: WR Ryne Robinson, Panthers

Analysis: Brown played in 14 games on special teams as a rookie. In two years, Graham has one catch in seven games. Arnoux suffered Achilles tendon injuries in consecutive seasons and currently is unsigned. Adibi was claimed by the Vikings last year and is unsigned. Robinson was waived by the Panthers in 2009 and eventually was waived by a United Football League team.

Past Browns picks at No. 118

1974: DE Mark Ilgenfritz, Vanderbilt

1971: WR Stan Brown, Purdue

Analysis: Ilgenfritz spent one season on the Browns’ roster and had no tackles. Brown played one year and seven kickoff returns.
